Environmental Trainer
Leslie
Martinez is currently a trainer for the
Environmental Training program at Ft. Polk
and has held this position for several years.
Prior to this training position, Leslie
was an employee working at Ft. Polk, and
was also a part of the U.S. Armed Forces,
therefore has great knowledge of the issues
at Ft. Polk and other military installations.
Leslie has co-written and/or updated the
entire existing training curriculum used
for the Environmental Training program at
Ft. Polk.
Additionally, she has conducted
research and provided instructions for the
following courses and briefings: Environmental
Compliance Officer Certification and Refresher
Courses, Observer/Controller Environmental
compliance Officer Certification Course,
Newcomer Environmental Awareness Briefings,
Commander/First Sergeant Environmental Awareness
Briefings, Energy Officer Awareness Course,
and the Limited Use Area Briefing.
While in the U.S. Army, Leslie
was involved in programs such as, Drug Abuse
Resistance Education Instructor/Crime Prevention
NCO; Traffic Accident Investigator; and
Drug/Narcotics Investigator.
Leslie holds a BS in
Psychology, with honors from Northwestern
State University and Hazardous Materials
Awareness IFSAC Certification. She was co-author
of "Comparison of the Belief and Recovery
Level of those Experiencing Different Types
of Trauma" which was presented at the
Annual convention of the Louisiana Psychological
Association, Baton Rouge, LA, October 1997.
