Environmental Restoration Program Information Management System

The Environmental Restoration Program Information Management System (ERPIMS) (formerly IRPIMS) is the Air Force system for validation and management of data and repository for the storage of data from environmental projects at all Air Force bases. This data contains analytical chemistry samples, tests, and results as well as hydrogeological information, site/location descriptions, and monitoring well characteristics.

ALL has extensive experience handling ERPIMS projects. We have performed submittals for Little Rock AFB, Sheppard AFB and Vance AFB. The work has included over 22 projects, with over 230 locations and 60,000 records.

The data entered in the databases included site and location information; well completion, groundwater elevation, lithological and stratigraphic information; and environmental measurements, sample collection and analytical chemistry results (with appropriate validation flags).

ALL currently uses ERPIMS version 4.0 to submit data, and was one of the first to submit in this new format to AFCEE.

ALL has also developed a Java-based user interface to access the data from ERPIMS databases.

The data entered into ERPIMS consists mainly of four groups:

-Group 1 Submission Data. This includes the Location information such as survey data, driller, date established, etc; and Well Completion information such as information that comes from the well construction diagrams (sandpack, screens, measuring points, casing, etc)

-Group 2 Submission Data - This contains the information on lithology, wells, aquifer tests, and groundwater levels. The information is taken from boring logs and well sampling/development logs. If no wells are installed or sampled and no borings are installed, you don't need to do this one. If the wells/borings are already in the main ERPIMS database, only new water levels need to be input.

- Group 3 Submission Data - This contains environmental measurements, sample collection and analytical chemistry results (with appropriate validation flags).

- Group 4 Submission - This is used for Remediation and data for Operable Units, remediation systems, technologies used, performance, etc. are entered here.

For ALL to perform an ERPIMS submittal, the following information would be required:

  • Boring logs for wells and borings
  • Well construction diagrams
  • Well sampling documentation
  • Survey data
  • Chemical analysis data (electronic and hard copy)
  • Data Validation reports
  • Workplans and/or Reports
